On April 20, the 50-year-old tycoon tweeted, “The woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable.” Elon Musk’s rebuke of Netflix came as the streaming giant revealed that inflation, the Ukraine conflict, and tough competition contributed to a drop in subscribers for the first time in more than a decade. In less than two hours, the SpaceX founder’s response received over 16k retweets and 88k likes on Twitter. Musk’s statements were also met with affirmative responses from Twitter users. “Woke mind virus is the biggest threat to the civilization,” wrote Pranay Pathole, Musk’s friend from Pune, India. Netflix announced that it lost 200,000 customers in the first quarter, far short of its target of 2.5 million new subscribers.
