Centralized crypto exchanges (CEXs) processed unprecedented trading volumes in December 2024, according to a new report by CCData. Combined spot and derivatives trading volume on CEXs rose by 7.6% to $11.3 trillion in Dec. 2024, marking a new all-time high for digital asset trading activity on these platforms, the report noted. Monthly spot trading volumes on CEXs rose 8.1% to $3.73 trillion in Dec. 2024, surpassing the previous all-time high in May 2021. At the same time, monthly derivatives trading volumes increased by 7.3% to $7.58 trillion, marking the third consecutive monthly rise.
