Metaplanet , a Tokyo-listed company, has raised $30 million through zero-interest bonds to expand its Bitcoin holdings. The company announced the issuance of 4.5 billion yen in bonds, set to mature on June 16, 2025 . These bonds come with no interest, allowing Metaplanet to avoid short-term financial burdens while boosting its Bitcoin reserves. What makes this approach effective is the planned repayment using funds from previously issued warrants. This ensures Metaplanet can honor its financial commitments without taking on additional debt. Since starting its Bitcoin strategy in April 2024, Metaplanet has acquired 1,142 BTC worth $122.67 million.
