Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the launch of its first non-fungible token (NFT) collection, ‘EY-ZERO1.’ UAE’s National Airline Jumps on the NFT Bandwagon According to a press release from today, the utility-driven NFT series features ten highly detailed 3D aircraft models, each one showcasing a unique Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner livery. A total of 2003 limited-edition collectibles, symbolizing the year when Etihad Airways was launched, will go on sale at 6 pm UAE time on 21 July. Each NFT will be priced at $349 plus tax and the sale will close on 18 August at 6 pm UAE time. The collectibles include Etihad’s Manchester City FC and Greenliner-themed aircraft, among others. Purchasers of an Etihad NFT will be granted Etihad Guest Silver tier membership for a year, while 10 NFT holders will win flight tickets. Holders will also be given advance access to upcoming NFT collections as well as future metaverse products which the company has planned as part of its Web3 strategy.
