A former NASA astronaut, Scott Kelly who spent nearly a year on the International Space Station is launching his first NFT compilation, “Dreams Out of This World,” on International Day of Human Space Flight, to support Ukraine’s fight against Russia. Astronaut Drops NFT Collection to Support Ukraine Kelly’s NFT collection comprises 3,333 works of generative art made in collaboration with the content creation studio Orange Comet. Each image depicts the astronaut in a variety of settings, like floating in space, wearing a gorilla suit, or draped in the colors of Ukraine’s flag. The NFT pieces went on auction on April 12, the International Day of Human Spaceflight, which celebrates cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s historic 1961 orbital mission along with some of Kelly’s spaceflight memorabilia. The auction was scheduled to continue for three days, on OpenSea. However, the entire collection sold out in just a few minutes, raising more than $500,000.
