Su Zhu and Kyle Davies, the founders of collapsed crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital, were said to be located in the United Arab Emirates after five weeks in hiding amid death threats, according to one of two attorneys in an interview with the founders, as reported by Bloomberg. The founders' unknown whereabouts came as a court in the British Virgin Islands towards the end of June ordered Three Arrows to liquidate, but their cooperation has been minimal. Still, “that does not mean that we haven’t been communicating with all relevant authorities,” Zhu said, as quoted by Bloomberg. “We have been communicating with them from day one,” they added. The formerly prominent hedge fund fell apart in mid-June after its leveraged crypto bets turned sour amid tanking crypto prices at the time, and therefore faced a slew of margin calls. 3AC's downfall was exacerbated by its access to easy-flowing credit, Bloomberg reported, citing Zhu during the interview.
