Universal Music Group Partners With Curio on NFT Fan Collection

Music company Universal Music Group has announced a partnership with non-fungible token platform Curio to create NFT collections for its record labels and artists. Creating NFT Collection from UMG’s Global Artists Under the partnership, UMG will leverage Curio’s groundbreaking technology to create and launch license artwork, audio recordings, and audio-visual content in the form of non-fungible tokens from UMG’s record labels and recording artists worldwide. In addition, Curio also will serve as an online outlet where fans can buy officially licensed NFTs. The first project under the partnership will be with British singer-songwriter Calum Scott, a Capitol Music Group artist, scheduled to launch this spring. “UMG and our labels are focused on developing NFT projects that authentically engage and speak to our artists’ fanbases and new audiences,” said Michael Nash, Universal Music’s executive vice president of digital strategy. Curio’s Ties to the Music Industry Curio also has long ties to the music industry. In fact, Co-Founder and CEO, Ben Arnon, previously worked at Universal Music Group while its Head of Music & Influencer NFT Global Partnerships Dan Dymtrow was a veteran music manager.
