Nomura-Backed Digital Asset Firm Komainu Names Bertrand As CEO

As per the latest reports, Nicolas Bertrand has been appointed as the new CEO of Nomura-backed digital asset custodian Komainu. Bertrand, who previously worked for more than ten years as the head of commodities and derivatives markets at the Italian stock exchange Borsa Italia, would begin immediately. Reports state that Bertrand would not try to cut costs or raise more money and would continue emphasizing innovation. Koimanu Receives Provisional Clearance in Dubai Komainu has received provisional clearance to operate in Dubai, and Bertrand said the company would work to secure a similar license for the UK. The company tried to hire Matthew Chamberlain, the then-CEO of the London Metal Exchange, in April of last year. Nomura Appointed Head of Wholesale Division From October 1, 2022, Nomura Holdings, Inc. has appointed Christopher Willcox as Head of Wholesale Division and Executive Officer. His selection has made him Nomura Holdings, Inc.’s first non-Japanese Executive Officer. Steven Ashley, named Chairman of Laser Digital Holdings AG1, Nomura’s new digital asset company, was succeeded by Willcox.
