GoldenTree, which manages more than $47 billion in assets, has acquired a $5.3 million stake in the governance token for SushiSwap. In a post on the SushiSwap community forum, GoldenTree described its acquisition and overall strategy regarding SushiSwap and cryptocurrencies. It aims to improve upon the original, although it lags behind rivals. “We want Sushi to succeed and wish to engage with the Sushi community, but ultimately we trust the core team and the community to hear views and come to their conclusions,” the company wrote in the post. An Ethereum address containing about 3 million SUSHI tokens was linked in the post. According to blockchain statistics, it added tokens to the address 22 days ago. The post states that Avi Felman and Joe Naggar are the co-presidents of GoldenTree’s cryptocurrency investment manager, known as GoldenChain Asset Management LP. Earlier this year, GoldenTree hired Felman, a former employee of BlockTower Capital, to serve as its head of trading in digital assets.
