Popular subscription platform OnlyFans is the latest social media company to jump on the NFT bandwagon. According to a Reuters report, the adult content creation platform now lets users post verified NFTs as profile pictures. The feature was initially rolled out back in December, the report added. As of now, the platform will only support Ethereum-based NFTs and be marked by an Ethereum icon on the NFT profile pictures. When users click on an NFT profile picture, they will see more information about the digital asset from OpenSea. “I will be leading an exceptionally talented team at OnlyFans that is delivering a unique experience for our creators and fans. By blending state-of-the-art technology with creative capital, we are committed to being the safest social media platform in the world,” Amrapali ‘Ami’ Gan, the Chief Executive Officer of OnlyFans said. Earlier last month, social media site Twitter also launched verified NFT profile pictures, but the feature is so far only available to the subscribers of the company’s premium service. Meanwhile, Reddit is also working on a similar feature, and Instagram is also ‘actively exploring’ NFTs. Facebook is also reportedly gearing up to launch an NFT marketplace, as its parent company Meta continues to push deeper into the metaverse. The post OnlyFans Launches NFT Profile Picture Feature appeared first on Cryptoknowmics-Crypto News and Media Platform.
