Bitfarms president succeeds company co-founder as CEO

Bitfarms ( NASDAQ: BITF ) President and Chief Operating Officer Geoffrey Morphy will succeed company co-founder Emiliano Grodzki as CEO, effective immediately, the cryptocurrency-mining company said Thursday. Grodzki resigned as CEO and will remain on the company's board. Nicolas Bonta's role will change to chairman of the board from executive chairman. Grodzki and Bonta co-founded Bitfarms in 2017 in Quebec. Morphy will retain his role of president. Bonta said Morphy helped to transform Bitfarms ( BITF ) from a purely Canadian company trading on the TSX Venture Exchange with five farms in Quebec to a company trading on both the Nasdaq and TSX with 10 operating farms in four countries. Earlier in December, Bitfarms ( BITF ) sold its de la Pointe property for $3.6M.
