Dr. Craig Wright, a self-described Satoshi Nakamoto, claimed that Apple had violated copyright laws by integrating the Bitcoin white paper into its macOS operating systems. Wright responded to a message that suggested Apple might be violating copyright on Twitter. After it was discovered that the Bitcoin white paper is buried deep inside new MacBooks, the computer scientist was also asked to weigh in on the situation. Even though suing Apple would almost certainly fail or be counterproductive given the company’s financial and legal resources, some on social media have openly encouraged Wright to do so.
