In response to the Ukraine conflict, the economic sanctions imposed by the United States on Russia have halted product and service sales. Leading corporations including Google, Apple, Microsoft, Dell, and Meta have announced to alter their business plans for Russia. Google has decided to cut-off ad revenues in Russia and provide increased security to Ukrainian users. Apple and Microsoft have ceased new product sales. Meta has restricted access to media outlets – Russia Today & Sputnik. One such security hardware and a software company have also been added to the list. Headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic; SatoshiLabs, the inventor of TREZOR – the first Bitcoin hardware wallet, has also decided to pause shipping products to Russia. Kristýna Mazánkov, a spokesperson for SatoshiLabs said the company halted the shipments as soon as the sanctions were imposed. Mazánkov says the Czech Republic has always been sympathetic to Ukraine. She further stated, “Bitcoin is very apolitical. I would like to imagine that Bitcoin is a solution for different situations and that it will stay that way.
