According to the Consumidor Moderno, a Brazilian wine club called Wine allows its users to make bitcoin purchases through its mobile app. After customers select the items they want to purchase; they will be directed to a checkout screen that includes bitcoin as a payment option. Once chosen, a QR code will appear, allowing customers to use the Bitcoin Lightning Network as an instantaneous payment method. Redecoin, a fintech service provider under parent company SFC Brazil Group, was responsible for the integration allowing bitcoin to be used as a payment method. CEO of the SCF Brazil Group said that they intend to popularize the usage of cryptocurrencies in Brazilians’ day-to-day use. Brazil Ranks 14th Among 154 Nations According to Chainalysis, Brazil is ranked 14th out of the 154 countries that cryptocurrencies have penetrated. According to Consumidor Moderno, Brazil is third in total traded volume.
