MoonPay is expanding its celebrity non-fungible token (NFT) concierge service after a modest launch last year, according to two new employment announcements. MoonPay’s NFT concierge team has added two new members, including Meta’s former creator relationships lead for North America. In February, Charlotte Laborde, a former associate director at Standard Chartered Bank, joined MoonPay as strategic lead to the COO. She changed her LinkedIn job title to ‘Concierge Manager’ on Tuesday. Justin Johnson, who previously worked at Meta as the North American creative relationships lead, joined the team as well. MoonPay’s increased focus on employing new employees reflects the company’s plans for the NFT market and a shift away from its primary business model of crypto onramp infrastructure for payments. Post Malone gave MoonPay the possibility to sponsor his future music video after the firm helped him get his first Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT, according to MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright, in December 2021.
