Cryptocurrency exchange Binance.US, the American division of global crypto exchange Binance, has appointed Jasmine Lee as its new finance chief in the wake of a crypto market downturn, according to a blog post released Thursday.In her new role as chief financial officer, Jasmine will lead the company's finance department and oversee financial operations, accounting, investor relations, treasury and tax, the blog read.Jasmine, who will report to Binance.US CEO and President Brian Shroder, most recently served as CFO and chief operating officer of Acorns, a micro-investing app. Prior to that, she held the dual roles of CFO and COO for PayPal's (PYPL) Consumer Product Group."Her experience at Paypal, a public Fortune 500 company, in particular, will be invaluable as we chart our path to an IPO in the coming years,” Shroder said.The appointment comes amid an increasingly cold crypto winter, though Binance.US “remains undeterred and is positioning the company to thrive,” a spokesman told the Wall Street Journal.Towards the end of June, Binance.US looked to raise $50M more at a $4.5B valuation.
