India’s e-commerce giant Flipkart announced that it would allow buyers of Nothing Phone 1 to acquire the limited edition non-fungible tokens (NFTs) via the Firedrops feature on its shopping app. Free NFTs For Nothing Phone Buyers The e-commerce company Flipkart has partnered with London-based mobile startup Nothing with NFT airdrop. Under the partnership, customers of Flipkart who pre-booked a Nothing phone between July 12 to 18 would be airdropped an NFT from the Nothing Community Dots. Holders from the NFT collection will be able to unlock special perks, including early access to new products and offline events. The Community Dots is hosted on Polygon Web3 infrastructure. The NFT Airdrop on FireDrops, powered by GuardianLink, is an NFT ecosystem company enabling brands and artists to launch NFTs. Commenting on the development, Jeyandran Venugopal, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Flipkart, said: “We are delighted to join hands with Nothing to bring our customers into the Web3 playground with the very first NFT drop at Flipkart FireDrops, hosted on Polygon’s blockchain.” Flipkart’s Foray Into Web3 The NFTs can be redeemed via the Firedrops feature in the Flipkart mobile app. Firedrops is Flipkart’s foray into Web3 and NFT ecosystem.
