Winklevoss-led cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has reduced its headcount for a second time after it decided to slash 10% of its workforce in the beginning of June amid crypto winter, according to a report by TechCrunch released Monday.Around 7% of Gemini's over 1K staff were cut off from its companywide Slack channel earlier on Monday due to "extreme cost cutting" in the wake of a widespread downturn in the crypto space, TechCrunch noted, citing a source familiar with the matter.Gemini is joining a raft of digital asset-related firms that have taken measures to better manage costs by laying off workers, including Coinbase Global (COIN), Banxa, Bullish, Celsius, Genesis, Crypto.com (CRO-USD), BlockFi, Bitpanda, 2TM and OpenSea.In the beginning of June, the CFTC charged Gemini over 2017 bitcoin futures case.
