The Lightning Network-based cryptocurrency payment platform Strike just unveiled a new Visa card with rewards for shopping. On Thursday night, the business posted a tweet announcing the debut, assuring customers they could “take Strike everywhere and earn points on ordinary spending.” The Strike Card is here! Strike is a well-known application created on the Lightning Network, a Layer 2 protocol intended to speed up Bitcoin-based transactions. The app headlined in April after CEO Jack Mallers disclosed a partnership with Shopify that would let retailers accept cryptocurrency payments but the payout in dollars. Using the new card, customers may receive direct deposits, buy Bitcoin, send and receive money, use Apple Pay and Google Pay to pay for purchases, and earn incentives, according to a series of tweets from Strike.
